How do I collect a valid phone number?

The phone block has a built-in country code selector, so you get a complete number every time.

A phone number without a country code is a phone number you can't reliably call. The phone block handles that for you — your visitor picks their country, types the local number, and Ambit assembles the full international number behind the scenes.

Add the phone block

In the funnel editor, add a phone block to the page. The block includes a country dial code combobox on the left and a number input on the right.

The country selector is searchable, so visitors can find their country by typing the first letter or two. The dial code (like +1 or +44) is added to the saved number automatically.

When to ask for a phone number

A phone number adds friction. Ask for one when:

  • You'll actually call the lead before the booked time

  • You send confirmations or reminders by SMS through another tool

  • The call itself is by phone rather than video

If none of those apply, leaving the phone field off makes the form faster to complete and you'll get more submissions.

What gets saved

The phone number is saved on the contact record in international format (country code plus local number). You'll see it in your contacts list, on the contact detail page, and in any export you generate.
