How do I set up qualification rules?

A rule is a condition you check against a visitor's answers.

A qualification rule looks at the answers a visitor gave on your qualify pages and decides whether they're a fit. If their answers match the rule, the visitor is disqualified and routed to your disqualify page.

Add a rule

  1. In the funnel editor, open the funnel logic settings.

  2. Add a new disqualification rule.

  3. Pick the question the rule looks at.

  4. Pick the condition that triggers disqualification — for example, "their answer is one of [these options]."

  5. Save the rule.

Rules apply at the end of the qualify flow. When a visitor reaches the next page after the last qualify question, Ambit checks every rule and decides where to send them.

Combining multiple rules

You can add more than one rule to a funnel. Combine them the way you'd combine them in plain English:

  • All of these must match — every condition has to be true to disqualify the visitor

  • Any of these can match — if any one condition is true, the visitor is disqualified

Most funnels do well with two or three sharp rules rather than a long list of weak ones.

Test your rules

Before you publish, open the funnel preview and walk through the funnel a few times with different answers. Confirm that visitors you expect to qualify reach the booking page, and that visitors you expect to disqualify reach the disqualify page.

  • How do I route leads after they submit?
